Pretty pictures

Yay! I have a new digital camera that isn't 5 years old (like my old one). I can take pretty pictures on it, like this one below from a hike we took yesterday. And uploading the photos to my computer is so easy, it's awesome.
This is my finished shrug (photos at my mom's request). Shrugs are such odd garments, I wasn't sure I would wear one, but this one is quite comfy and cute, so I think it will get some use.

And here's the finished sweater, finally being shown in action. Front and back shots because I think the tie in the back is so cute.

My most recent knitted garment is this little mini cardigan, knit in some gorgeous Manos del Uruguay wool my mom sent me doubled up with the perfect shade of reddish brown wool given to me by E. in my knitting group when I wasn't having any luck finding a coordinating yarn for the Manos. Despite the wonderful yarn, this little sweater was horrible to knit due to a poorly written pattern with numerous mistakes/typos/omissions. (It was a Chicks with Sticks pattern, if anyone is wondering, and when I called about the mistakes, they said this pattern was in hundreds of shops across the country and no one else had ever complained about it, which I find hard to believe.)
I'm making a funny face because I have such mixed feelings about this top. I will definitely be wearing it though, as it's perfect for summer evenings.
